The contract is not yet signed, sealed, delivered for the Edwin Valero vs Manny Pacquiao bout. So this fight may or may not take place. However, Bob Arum is keen on pairing this two prizefighters. Critics and Fans are already speculating the Manny Pacquiao will beat Valero. Manny Pacquiao last year wanted Valero as his next opponent.

The whole country was excited during the Pacquiao vs David Diaz fight, as houses, restaurants, malls, sport complex, and anywhere else that is capable of broadcasting the Manny Pacquiao vs David Diaz Result was filled with viewers. Pay per view subscription in local cable increased, as pay-per-view clients anticipated the much awaited fight. The demand was so high that people are willing to pay premium price just to see the fight. Global Destiny charged P800 and Skycable P1,500, was buzzing with customers. Living rooms, movie houses, public markets, and plazas across the country, was attuned to the radio and video broadcast of Pacquiao Diaz fight.
Just like in previous fights, virtually no crimes was reported during the fight, many streets were deserted, and even rebel groups watched the fight. There are more movie houses showing the fight than ever before.
The Lagao gymnasium with about 9,000-seating capacity was filled to the rafters. People from as far as South Cotabato and Sarangani came over just to watch the fight live.
In Cotabato City, Moro rebels took time out and found themselves in areas where the fight was shown. So did soldiers assigned in former battlefields in Central Mindanao. In Datu Odin Sinsuat, more than a dozen trucks hauled villagers to Cotabato City restaurants to watch the bout. In the two Lanao provinces, soldiers from the 103rd and 104th Brigades took a break to witness the fight on a wide-screen.
Even towns which are devastated by the recent typhoon, like the Iloilo town of Jaro and Molo set up widescreen.
Some office workers even find a way to watch the fight via the Internet, mobile phones, or AM radio.
At Manila’s Sports Complex, wide screen projectors had been set up, and was overflowing with viewers. When the winner was announced, it was pure pandemonium, the arena exploded with joyous victory.
Meanwhile, David Diaz was emotional. Diaz choked and didn't finish his speech when he saw his father, Anselmo, at Wednesday’s press conference at the Media Center of the Mandalay Bay Resort. Anselmo, a Mexican immigrant from Chicago who doesn’t speak English up to now, raised 9 children that includes David.
In an earlier interview with the media, Manny Pacquiao said that he is dedicating his fight to the typhoon victims.
"I already sent one of my men to extend financial help," he said. Pacquaio, who expressed sadness from the incident, promised to give more help once he gets home. Some politicians, like Iloilo Vice Gov. Rolex Suplico (his province was the most devasted in the calamity), are urging Manny to use his fame to gather international donations.
About 500 mostly Filipino fans, many of whom arrived hours earlier, cheered for Manny Pacquiao at San Francisco, California. In this particular video, Pacquiao is demonstrating his impressive mitt work with his longtime trainer Freddie Roach. This is Pacquiao's second free workout this year in the San Francicsco Bay Area. The Filipino fans in Northern California always provide some of Pacquiao's biggest pay-per-view numbers, promoter Bob Arum said. Pacquiao wanted to pay them back with a weekend workout — and he also paid back about 60 family members and local friends by taking them to lunch at a restaurant in the Berkeley Marina after the workout.
Manny Pacquiao is set to leave Philippines this day May 12, 2008 for his Los Angeles training for the upcoming Diaz vs Pacquiao fight.

Marquez walked up to Pacquiao at the fight venue of WBO champion Gerry Penalosa. Both of them has just arrived from a trip abroad. Golden Boy Promotions and ABS-CBN collaborated to bring Marquez as a special guest on the event. Marquez received a standing ovation from fans, some even posed for pictures with him. Reporter Dyan Castillejo is the moderator of their talk.
The conversation started with Marquez shaking Pacquiao hands. Comedian: Welcome to the Philippines
Marquez: Thank you very much.
Reporter: Juan Manuel, what would you like to say to...
Marquez: I, I feel very happy to stay here first, and I, I want the rematch. Because, because he knows I, I won the fight. Yeah.
Reporter: What can you say about that Manny?
Pacquiao: Uhm, what I can say is... (crowd cheering) what I can say is, uh, you know uh, it depends on uh, how's the negotiations going, and uhm, there's no problem to me about the rematch. Anytime.
Marquez: Many, many people thinks eh, I won the fight. Not only in Mexico, but here, in England, in, in Japan, and around the world. Yes.
Pacquiao: Well that's uh, part of the game. You know there's a loser, and there's a winner. But uh, you know, I think uhm, you know uhm, I think I'm lucky on that night that I win. I await a rematch so anytime... Reporter: Anytime, right now... (to Marquez) you're asking him for a rematch.
Marquez: Yes, Yes.
Comedian: Swing bout (laughs)... how about a swing bout?
